MIDAS PRO OFFLINE EDITOR UPGRADE
They need only replace certain sections of their control surface, upgrade to the new Neutron DSP engine, and use their existing remote I/O - that's it! The PRO X is the first of its kind, and a prime example of why Midas is the digital and analog mixing console industry leader." "Another amazing feature existing PRO 3, 6, and 9 owners can easily upgrade those systems to the new PRO X.
MIDAS PRO OFFLINE EDITOR PROFESSIONAL
"The PRO X brings mind-blowing I/O channel counts and seamless integration, while maintaining easy and cross platform operation - all at a price point that allows even the budget conscious to own Midas," stated Music Group professional division sales VP Shawn Watts. Advanced FPGA and MIMD (multiple instruction, multiple data) architecture delivers more than 100 gigaflops of real-time audio processing performance, translating into 271 simultaneous processing channels at 96kHz and 40-bit floating point operation. The powerhouse behind the PRO X system is the new Neutron audio system engine, which is the result of a three-year research and development program that the company says pushed Midas engineers far beyond the edge of the proverbial envelope. This output-centric approach redefines monitor mix workflows, allowing for even the most demanding stage monitoring applications.

Each of the displayed mixes has its own LCD select switch with RGB color coding and scribble strips - plus 11-segment LED bargraph metering. PRO X features 99 mix buses that can be simultaneously displayed as 24 mono or stereo mixes on the console surface. Seamless integration comes via IP-compliant third-party audio networks, such as Audinate Dante and Cirrus Logic CobraNet, using the Klark Teknik DN9650 Network Bridge. AES50 digital audio connectivity allows scalability for up to a total of 288 network inputs and 294 network outputs. This compact form-factor is ideal where space comes at a premium, but high I/O counts are a must. On its own, the PRO X provides 168 inputs and 99 mix or 103 output channels simultaneously on a control surface that measures less than 1.5m, or 60" wide. The Neutron engine, capable of up to 800 audio channels, which can be routed on a point-to-point basis - and that routing can be changed, even on individual automation scenes.ĪES50 and HyperMAC audio networking combine deterministic and ultra-low latency performance with true plug-and-play connectivity, minimizing set-up and configuration times - essential when playing a different venue every night. I program PLCs-even the "Made in SouthEast Asia" ones that require a more granular understanding of the programming structure-but am locked out of basic things because I don't want to do what the OEM thinks I should want to do.Midas Announces the World's Most Powerful Live Mixing Consoleīuilding on the legacy of their award-winning PRO3, PRO6, and PRO9 digital consoles, Midas announces the new PRO X - the touring engineer's console. Anyone having similar trouble Im running OS 10.12.2. Also tried the PRO2 editor, same problem. Tried both versions from the Music Group site. Installed fine but crashed every time I tried to open it. Sorry for the cynical rant-I don't want it to "just work"-I want it to work the way I want to and be able to allocate resources the way I want to without having to get a college degree level of understanding of the OS. MIDAS PRO Offline Editors not Opening Anyone having trouble with Midas Editors Have a show later on a PRO1 and tried using the offline editor. And, I still have to find work arounds because of all the security patches and concerns. The 'Million Cycle' Midas PRO FADER One of the first projects that Midas embarked upon utilised the large scale manufacturing resources of the Music Tribe and created the million-cycle Midas PRO FADER, which greatly exceeds the operational life of motorised faders fitted to competitor consoles. At the end of the day, I still end up waiting for pages to load and programs to crunch the 4K display changes that demand large amounts of data I/O that perhaps the guy running photoshop needs, but really don't make my word processor/ email editor/calendar function any better.
MIDAS PRO OFFLINE EDITOR UPDATE
Now, we are being forced to update software to run on a new OS on new hardware.

From my chair, for years the main reason I have upgraded hardware is that it no longer supports the current supported OS-be that MS or Fruit Co. Of course, if there were a significant improvement in real world experience developers would jump on board and consumers would be glad to pay the difference.
